So I am getting ridiculous download speeds on a 1gb connection.

I believe this to be BT routing to the CDN, as I get spikes of 5mbps to 50 and floats around the 20-50's range, lots of drops to 0, then hitting 2-700mbps and then back to 0-50mbps. I am having to take my pc on site to update and download from steam, on site its a 10gb network and I get 3gbps+ on most downloads.

I have changed DNS, enforced download limit, changed regions, really don't want to have to use a VPN to avoid BT's bad routing as it appears the data is being shunted to an amazon server in the us, then to Italy and Germany.

anyone experienced this and found a solution?

Is it only affecting steam downloads, are your downloads for other services stable?

Have you been in touch with our technical team to report the issue you are having?

Have you turned off your router and ONT for 30 minutes as this can sometimes help resolve issues and is worth a try if you have not already.
