Why a PIN instead of the PAC that I asked for

I texted PAC to 65075 as I want to retain my mobile numbers when I move . BT sent a PIN instead, and I`ve no idea how to use it. I have tried using it to unlock the sim in my phone but it won`t accept it. I have one more try before I have to make a dreaded phone call.

Help please!

You don’t need to unlock your sim to move your number. The code you should receive from BT would be BTC followed by 6 number (BTC123456).

if you’re handset is asking for a network unlock pin or code then you’ll need to call up for that.

Thank you for your input.

My phone didn`t ask for a pin or any other input at all.

I tried the 4 digit PIN number I was sent by BT in my phone ; from info that I found on the web.

I just wanted to know why I would be sent a PIN instead of a PAC; and how can I use the PIN to port to another company.

I have been out of contract since June on my 2 sims.

BUT!

I will be out of contract for my other BT services on 23rd August . 30 day sign off is 30th according to the Executive Complaints dept.

I have been in contact with BT to say I was leaving. I think it was a major mistake on my part, and I should have done my leaving in some sort of sequence.

This is so frustrating ; but I have the patience of the Devil.

Anyone's guess why you were sent a PIN but just ignore it & re-request the PAC.

If you search the forum there are quite a few similar posts to yours getting a PAC when you have more than one mobile on your account.

Not sure why I'm being asked to do a search. I did that ( many times before posting my question ). Has no one got any idea or an answer about this. This forum is a last resort according the BT. ???

This is frustrating enough.

Request it again via SMS, and if it doesn’t come through you’ll just need to call. It shouldn’t take long once you get through as it’s a simple, common request. You can also request via MyBT near the settings for spend cap/parental controls etc

Ok I'll leave it at that now. I posted because I have done everything ( over 3 days ) including the My BT route many times. And including emailing Mr Jansen. Case closed without it being resolved. Must be the strikes ?.

Cracked it.

When you ask for a PAC the button says "Get PIN". The PIN is then sent by text to your mobile.

Then there is a PIN button on the web page, press that and enter the PIN and you get a PAC.

Wow.

you need your phone unlocking or your number move

mobile phone should already be unlocked if not go bsck to the network the phone is from and request unlock

number move to anther network
