Change my monthly plan to pay as you go

Hi learned friends

I have a monthly plan which I don’t need as the phone will now only be used for a few important texts a day. I would like to know if / how I can change my plan to pay as you go? I am sure £20 pay as you go credit will see me through the year?

Also if you can advise what the minimum credit can be (as £20 still seems excessive for only texts!) ?
