samsung galaxy A51 not worked since software update

Just before christmas 2022 there was a software update on my samsung galaxy A51, and it hasn't worked since i have tried holding down the volume key and off button to restart the phone it goes off and when it comes back on its frozen on the startup screen and nothing else happens, my contract ends on 1st feb 2023 and cant sfford to upgrade and have no other issues with my phone till now what can i do to resolve this as when i do live chat with bt all i get are bots and no humans to talk to, i have also found out off my daughter ive been paying full price for my wifes contract which ended in june last year so now im truly p****d off now.

You could try a factory reset but be aware it will wipe everything.

Use power+vol down to restart as you have been. As soon as the screen goes blank keep power pressed while switching to vol up. That should initiate the reset screen.

no good as its asking for IMEI number and i cant access it on my phone

managed to get it and submitted it now saying

You have submitted an invalid IMEI.

ive put my sim back in galaxy and IMEI is only showing the last phone i took my sim out of, looks like i wont get a repair

Dual SIM phones have two IMEIs so make sure you've submitted the one for SIM 1. Or maybe it thinks the warranty has expired.

Some have the IMEI on a sticker on the back of the phone. Could be there if the phone is in a case.

What's the £20 for, is it out of warranty? hat Samsung page I linked to talks of numerous options including mobile repair & courier pickup.

as far as i can make out its for collection and delivery as when i 1st had phone it was on a 24 month contract and it expires on 1st feb 2023
