Trying to cancel contract

I received a text message earlier in the year saying I was out of contract

When I called to cancel they said that number was still in contract until February next year and it was actually my other number that had gone out of contract and the text was in error

So now I have a number I don't need and still paying for

Has anyone else had this problem?

You'll have to pay an exit fee if you cancel early so little or nothing to be gained from it.
