I’ve not had a new SIM card from BT for years yet I now have a 5G enabled phone. Should I not have a 5G SIM card? (I’m with BT Mobile). Any advice welcome.

My understanding is that you don't need a new SIM, just an update of your account. The difficulty now might be that's possibly not an option since BT Mobile stopped taking new orders. So you may be forced to move to EE. Give them a call & see what they say.

I was on an out of contract BT mobile 4G account, with a 5G enabled phone, and received a maximum of 4G as that is controlled by your account not your phone or SIM. I needed to increase the amount of data and phoned the BT mobile team a few weeks ago and they offered a new 12 month contract which includes 5G data.

It’s a 12 months BT mobile account. When I phoned I was expecting to be transferred to EE but was told they were still renewing contracts for existing BT mobile users.
