I am having a very very bad network connection problem. Calls are not coming through or going at all. Wifi calling is not working. I’ve updated my phone, and tried calling BT. I’ve had to hold on their technical team who is not picking up and keeps dropping. I’ve had to hold for 30mins , no one answers and the call just drops. I’m working from home and this is an eyesore.

Wi-if itself is working alright but not phone calls. HELP PLEASE

what can I do?

What sort of broadband do you have and do you have a landline? If so try a quiet line test (call 17070 and follow the instructions), ideally with a wired phone. If there is any noise on the line report that as a line fault to BT. If there is noise on the line that will also adversely affect the broadband signals.

What part of the country are you in? Line problems are often caused by water getting into joins etc. IF the weather has been very wet and windy where you are a line noise problem would be no surprise.

What platform does your mobile use (Android, Apple or other).

Have you checked that the update (to your phone) didn't disable Wi-Fi calling?

I live in Barcaldine which is near Oban in Argyll, my mobile phone has been working fine on WiFi and 4G calling, however yesterday 31/07/2024 Wifi calling from my home no longer works.

My home doesn't have a mobile signal so I'm dependent on WiFi calling to get and make calls on my mobile phone.

When I try to make a call from my mobile at home I get the error message "Not registered to Network"

I've checked the connections settings on my Android phone and searched for Network Operators, this shows, BT, 3UK, 23432, Vodafone UK, and 02 UK. when I click on BT I get the error message "Unable to connect try later".

When I try connecting to the other networks, I get the error message "you sim doesn't allow connection to this network"

WiFi calling is enabled, and the phone has not been updated.

Mobile networks / Access Point Names on my mobile show Internet everywhere as being selected (blue circle with a blue dot in the centre, below this is eezone which is not selected, however when expanded both show the same values having been entered into their respective data fields, such as MMS proxy, MMS port, APN, authentication type, etc. etc.

EE told me that there are a lot of people with WiFi calling problems and that they are trying to fix it.

EE transferred me to BT who my SIM is with, and they said that EE had told them that there is a problem with my SIM and that they need to send me a replacement, or better than that would I like to have an EE SIM at a lower price and more data, to which I agreed.

They also talked me into changing my broadband to EE at the same price.
