Is there a TV equivalent of a TiVo Wishlist?

I’ve just switched to BT broadband and tv but I cannot find a Wishlist function like I had on my old TiVo.

I used to be able to put in a list of my favourite film directors and then it would record anything by them that was available to me.

is there anything similar?
