Many thanks for the comprehensive reply. I thought it was too good to be true. Very frustrating getting so much 4k content through Netflix, Disney and Prime apps and yet the Sky content via the Now app is mainly only HD. I'm not tied to BT/EE now so may well jump ship to get a more comprehensive 4k Sky content.

Hi, I've been a subscriber to BT (now EE) for a number of years and I've read recently that Ultra Boost is now a selectable upgrade option on the NOW package. I currently have Boost to get HD content across the three areas that I subscribe (Entertainment, Movies and Sport) but I would dearly love to upgrade so that I can get F1 in 4K. Has anyone else done this yet as I haven't been able to find the Ultra Boost option on my account upgrade options?

Ultra Boost is not currently available for EETV customers. BT/EE have been working with Sky to bring it to us for several months now. I believe that the plan was that it would only be made available to EETV customers on EE broadband. However, media reports within the last 24 hours suggest that the BT brand will be reprieved by CEO Allison Kirkby for residential customers after all, so that plan may well change.

Customers who subscribe to NOW directly have been able to upgrade to Ultra Boost. However, the number of devices that it is compatible with is rather limited. I have read that the NOW upgrades planned by Sky have been transferred from being a U.K. operation over to Comcast colleagues in the U.S and they have run into a number of issues. In the meantime many of us are still waiting patiently for news of upgrades to the NOW service.

Yep, did wonder about that. Since my NOW subscription is through BT I don't get the option of selecting Ultra Boost but presumably I would get this option if my subscription was direct with Now. Depends how much a new deal would be with BT after removing NOW. May just be cheaper to switch provider

I have Now direct and with discounts.

Dont have sport.

Just a shame Ultra Boost is still now available with EETV.

I can only use Ultra Boost on my new TV in living room. That I will have had just under 10 weeks.

TV in my bedroom is only fully HD and is now well over 11 years old but I dont tend to replace that TV anytime soon unless it starts to play up or fully pack in.

Best thing I did was cancel BT TV as it was called well over a year ago.

Im now saving money compared to when I had BT TV.

Did look at getting Sky Stream a few months back without the sports package but I so far happy with the Now service and I can watch the Now service whenever I go to my sisters.

Thanks for your reply. I've taken a look at the options and decided it was time to switch to Sky Stream. My BT package was getting so expensive (and increasing even more in the next couple of weeks) and they couldnt give me any assurance that ultra boost was forthcoming via BT so I thought I'd see what Sky could offer. I'm basically opting for the same package of fibre + TV but saving over £50 pm on a 2 year contract. Only time will tell whether it's as stable as BT but it's the same basic Openreach system so I'm confident (hopeful) that the fibre broadband will be ok and I'm now sorted with the full uhd content on Sky.

I would look at getting Now direct before looking at getting Sky Stream.

There is always discounts being offered for the Now service if you have it direct.

Also 30% of TV shows as well as movies on the Now service are in Ultra HD/4k if you have the Now Ultra HD Boost.

Think some of Sky Sports is also in Ultra HD/4k but as I dont have the sports package I cant confirm this.

I also have Netflix direct with standard without ads plus extra member. Dont have Ultra HD with Netflx only due to the monthly cost.

Also have Prime with ads that includes Ultra HD and have Disney+ Ultra HD without ads plus extra member but there is not much content in Ultra HD on Disney+ and I thinking of downgrading my Disney+ to standard without ads and keeping extra member to save money.

Done deal for me now with Sky. When I spoke to BT yesterday they acknowledged that the Ultra Boost was not yet available through them. In my case the swap over was a no brainer as Sky were offering me such a good deal to swap over. Only time will tell whether the service is better or worse but for me is was worth the risk.

I’ve looked at this more recently and I think the price through EETV bundle is cheaper.

EETV Big Sport £48 includes TNT, Discovery +, Now Sky Sports, Now boost.

EETV Sport is £23 ( TNT, Discovery +) so £25 per for sky sports and boost compared to NOW £26 sky sports and £6 for boost £32 in total.

Suggests EETV Big Sport is a better all round package

Even direct with Sky there pricing seems higher.

i moved from sky stream to EETV Box Pro significant improvement.
