When I signed up for TNT Sports I was going from the adverts and information on their website. This said that they were the home for MLB for 2025. This is literally the only reason I took out the subscription.

I'm now seeing that they don't have the rights to the MLB at all. Does anyone know what recourse I have for this false advertising?I have no interest in the other sports provided.

ie is it part of an EETV package , a direct app subscription with discovery+ or via some other party ?

@BangBang There is actually coverage of the two MLB Tokyo Series games between the Dodgers and Cubs on Tuesday 18th March and Wednesday 19th March on Tnt Sports (1/3) and discovery+.

You may have grounds to discuss terminating any contract if you can demonstrate that you are materially disadvantaged by withdrawal of the content that you were reasonably expecting to be included in your subscription. You would need to raise that issue/complaint with the company that you ordered from.

Thanks again for the reply mate. I saw that The Tokyo series was on but I think that's a separate contract from the regular MLB season.
I'll give your suggestion a go but I don't hold out much hope. They tend to have an unpleasant way of squirming out of these things. Cheers again.

I was going to come back and say that they actually did cancel my contract! They had a tweet that said they didn’t have the 2025 rights. The guy on the phone agreed as did his manager. What a shocking service! They don’t have a clue what they’re doing.
I much appreciate your replies here mate.

So why am I talking to them then? That's the number given to ask about any problems with the service so I should write rightly expect them to know about said service. That's a ridiculous and laughable excuse.

When you take out the subscription all the hardware comes from BT/EE. All correspondence and emails come from BT/EE. All numbers on that correspondence will put you through to BT/EE. All advertising is done by BT/EE. They do not give you a number to call TNT Sports. They do not tell you it is a different company and nothing to with BT/EE. That's the actual reality but sure let's make it my fault.

They are selling an expensive product and according to you they shouldn't be expected to actually know anything about it? I know you've been giving this exalted title and feel the need to defend them but lack of basic customer service and lack of knowledge of your product that appalling is indefensible.

Remember they also upsell Sky channels as well..... I doubt very much the call centre are given specific information on their products either, only what is on the script. In all cases it's best to do your own homework before taking any subscription.

Due diligence? So now customers have to guess if the information on a multi billion pound company's website is correct or not. Guess again if the information from the company's official social media a joint is correct. And then guess again if the people on the helpline, the one specifically provided by the same company, are also giving you the correct information. Exactly which one of these do the "recognised experts" think would have provided me with this due diligence?

In your case you are right, I never said you wasn't. And you should be able to cancel without penalty, as TNT's website is just plain wrong. I'm not having a pop at you, just simply explaining that the call centre staff will not have "inside information", just the script they have in front of them.

PS. I'm an ex subscriber to BTTV/EETV and I don't have any sort of TNT subscription. And the "recognised expert" is not something I asked for, just interested in the service and try to help when I can (being an ex subscriber).
