No I didnt have a Netflix account before as as mentioned in my first post "Your Netflix subscription will change
Your Netflix plan will change because it's part of your EE TV subscription.

If you were paying for Netflix before taking EE TV, they'll get in touch about continuing your subscription. If not, it'll end at the same time as your EE TV service."

So therefore it should have ended, allowing me to then choose for me to continue and set what package i want. Sure it is easy for me to go and cancel, but what I am getting at here is that BT has made an assumption!

Hi,

I have just cancelled my BT Package, and just paid a bit extra for cancelling before my contract was due , only a few days before. However, Netflix was part of my package, and I just noticed that I have now been charged 8.99 from nextflix for the standard package, I was going to move to the basic package when my BT contract finished. However reading from the email I had, and I quote "Your Netflix subscription will change
Your Netflix plan will change because it's part of your EE TV subscription.

If you were paying for Netflix before taking EE TV, they'll get in touch about continuing your subscription. If not, it'll end at the same time as your EE TV service."

Clearly though this hasnt happened, no one has contacted me, and just put me straight onto a netflix package. Not happy since I have also paid the little bit extra coming out of the contract!

Surely the easiest thing to do is just log into your Netflix account and cancel the subscription yourself? You’ll get access for any remaining time on the £8.99 you’ve been charged and then it will end. Or am I not seeing something here?

You stated you were going to take out a basic package with Netflix anyway on finishing with BT? Just downgrade your existing package yourself on your account or stop it altogether.

Did you have Netflix before you joined EE ? , if you did , and you were told you would revert to that direct Netflix arrangement after EE TV is ceased , why the complaint here ? , if Netflix didn’t get in touch once your previous arrangement was reinstated and ask if you actually wanted to continue or not , that’s a matter between you and Netflix…and as stated if you don’t want to continue, cancel it yourself and then approach Netflix for a refund for the period in question, what exactly do you consider to be the EE failure ?.

@lardenr I think the issue here is, you're probably misguided in thinking that BT/EE would be able to sweep this up in the way you might have expected. I have standalone Netflix, I just don't have an issue dealing with it all by myself. Just learn from the experience and move on.

No! not misguided here. How can it be misguided when the email was from BT itself(and I have actually copied and pasted exactly what is said!

My my, bit on the attack here arent we, thought this was supposed to be a community to ask questions!

You're not speaking to anyone at BT here, this is a customer to customer help forum. Your posts don't go to BT.

You can ask all the questions you like, but this is an issue between yourself and BT. Call BT/EE and resolve the issue with them.

You mention that you "have been charged" - do you mean that Netflix have sent you a bill? If so, then is this not Netflix contacting you to ask how you'd like to proceed with your contract?

They can't have taken any money from you, as they don't have any billing details (no card details or direct debit, as you've never contracted with them directly).

Yes that’s correct, they haven’t contacted me, the email to say they should be was from BT, but they have got the payment details in there . Anyway I have cancelled now, may resume in winter. And have also had a reply from Netflix to say that as BT initiated this under there services then should be down to BT. All round a bit of a mess!
