WWE on demand commentary issue

I'm not sure if this is a BT or a WWE or a Sky issue but recently it seems when watching RAW and SmackDown on demand via Sky, the Arabic commentary is coming through alongside the standard English commentary and I have found no way to turn it off.

Is anyone else experiencing this? Is there a fix to it?

I have exactly the same issue. It’s so annoying. I also can’t watch the recording as it always has a system failure, where it glitches every couple of minutes.

I have the same issue. Trying to watch last nights RAW and the commentary is in chinese (i think) and i can't here the actual programme.

Does anyone know how to fix this?

Has anyone tried calling Sky, or using their forums? Given that this is on their box, you're less likely to get an answer here.

I don't think this is a Sky issue.

I have tried both online and on the bt app and it is the same.

Does anyone have the contact details for BT and I will contact them.

Ah ok - no one had mentioned it was anything other than Sky.

If it's also affecting BT then it'll be an issue at source - I'll ask our content guys to confirm.

OK, I've had it confirmed that there was a problem with the global feed from WWE - the wrong audio was provided to all broadcasters. It was reported straight away and resolved part the way into the event.

Unfortunately this is totally out of our control, and we don't have any way to amend the audio on the replay.

Yes I can see on this occasion it was out of BT'S control. However I have come across this issue several times when downloading Raw or Smackdown whereby you can hear commentary in a different language in the background alongside the main english commentary. You don't get this issue on the live feed. There have also been downloads with matches and important segments missing. I do not recall any of these issues when Sky were broadcasting WWE programs.

We only receive a single feed @gemini146 which is kept and used for the replays in the BT Sport app. We don't receive any other audio channels - only the single channel provided to us on the global feed. Thus anything you see in the replay was definitely present in the live feed at the time too.

I'm not sure what you mean by downloads? We don't support any download options in the BT Sport app. Also, could you provide an example of what you mean when you say segments are missing?

Hi thanks for your response.

I have Sky Q and either watch the live versions of Raw and Smackdown on BT sport or download them using my Sky Q box from the BT Sport App which is built into the Sky Q box under Catch Up TV. I have compared them and can assure you that the foreign commentary can only be heard in the background on the downloaded version not the live version.

Also for example a downloaded version of Raw normally lasts for just over 2 hours. I cannot be specific on dates but in the recent past there have been downloaded versions that are shorter in length and have certain matches and backstage segments missing. Its as if whoever put the download together has done it incorrectly.

There's no BT Sport app on the Sky Q box @gemini146 - I can only assume that you're referring to Sky's catch up content for BT Sport? We have no control over any content on the Sky platform, and I can't comment on any issues with it I'm afraid.

Yes it is the Sky catch up content for BT sport I'm referring too. It seems strange how Sky never had problems like this when WWE was on Sky Sports. However if you say there is nothing you can do then that's fair enough.

You mean WWE has foreign commentary on it again? Sounds like WWE are having issues. Feel free to complain directly to them - we have no control of it.

and who do I contact in a company that size. My contract is with you and you aren’t fulfilling what I’m playing for. Passing the buck and saying it’s not your problem is pretty crappy service.

We're providing exactly what WWE are offering. We're supporting the service and raising issues with them immediately when they don't supply the correct streams, however that's all we can do.

My suggestion about complaining to them directly was so that they're aware of the impact it's having on their viewers. e.g. you could use Twitter, or any other social media, to make your voice heard. They also have a "contact us" page on their site where you can provide feedback to them about their events.
