Hi all

Im annoyed about the cycling gone to TNT but the decision is made so heres my query/question directly to TNT sports or to anybody who can direct me in the correct direction to get this query to the top.

When a race comes up on its listing, its always down as "Mens Cycling Pro Series", every single race

For example, last Sundays brilliant Paris Roubaix was down as "Mens Cycling Pro Series".

Why cant they change the name to the actual name of the race? It very simple.

Tomorrow (Wed 16th) there are 2 seperate "Mens Cycling Pro Series" races yet they are completely different road races, namely Tour of Abruzzo and Tour of Limberg.

Any ideas most welcome

Thanks

Good morning @pippex.

Thanks for your feedback on this 😊

I've taken a look into this one, and in the TNT Sports app it lists 'Cycling' along with the specific race.

On TV Guides online it is just under 'Men's Pro Cycling' as the programme title, but details of the race itself should be listed within the programme description.

Where is it you're viewing this? Is it in the TNT Sports App, via the EE TV EPG, or elsewhere?
Peter

Hi, thanks for replying

Im viewing on a Sky Box, the name of the programme and all cycling programmes is "Live Cycling Pro Series - Men" and the highllights packages are listed as "Cycling Pro Series".

Obviously when i click into the info of each race, it tells me what race it is.

All im saying is that on the old Eurosport menu (on Sky box or wherever), the name of the Race was the actual name of the programme, if you know what i mean

EG - Live Football would be listed as "Manchester Utd V Scunthorpe Utd" rather than "Live Football Mens Pro Series"

Do you know where im coming from?

Thanks @pippex, this seems to be consistent across all EPGs and TV guides for TNT programmes.

Normally it displays the title as the sport / league being covered, then details of the specific event are listed in the information.

I can certainly pass this feedback on to the relevant teams as something to look at, though.

Peter

Thanks for the prompt reply

I guess that's all you can do for now, I know it's only a small thing but when your scanning hundreds of programmes, the old Eurosport system was way better, I'm sure it's an easy thing to change

For example on TNT 3 later at 6pm there's a baseball game, it's listed as 'Live MPB : Astro @Cardinals'

Or Champions league at 7pm 'Live: Real Madrid v Arsenal'

Very simple but effective and can be done.

Regards

Actually if i look at the TV Guide for the discovery+ app I see the listings for TNT Sports linear channels do list the programmes in what seems is a more viewer informative format ie for sun 13th at 10am i have on the discovery+ TV Guide (TNT Sport1) Paris-Roubaix whereas the EETV EPG entry (TNT Sport 1) says Live:Cycling World Tour Men.

So I don't see why WBD cannot provide as informative a guide for EETV as they do for discovery +.

Hi

I was watching the Volta Ao Algarve live earlier and with 2.2km left, TNT sports cut it off and went over to ads, then to build up to some football game, I think it's the Conference League which I believe is the THIRD competition in Europe

I've no idea who won the stage as they cut it off with zero warning .

The football game didn't start for another 30 minutes and to make matters even worse, it was on TNT Sports 3 as well so it was 2 channels!!!!

Why didn't they wait 10 minutes at least? I find this disrespectful to cycling fans and bad management.

Regards

Hi @pippex

Looking at the EETV EPG TNT Sports schedules show that Volta ao Algave Stage 2 was onboth TNT Sports 1 and TNT Sports 10 .

According to the EPG the TNT Sports 1 broadcast was scheduled to end at 5pm and the TNT Sports 10 broadcast ending at 5:31pm.

So I presume the full stage was on TNT Sports 10.

It seems increasing common for TNT Sports to broadcast what appears to be the same event on more than one channel but not necessarilly the same amount of content on each. If setting recordings this can be problematically. should you wish to record the whole event. If watching live then I would expect on screen announcements to be made to inform the viewer to switch channels to continuing viewing which apparently the broadcaster failed to do.

You shoud be able to view the full stage replay on discovery+ . Looking at discovery+ tonight they actually have the curtailed coverage from TNT Sports 1 which shows them cutting away to adverts with no warning or information with 2.1KM to go the finish.

They also have the full stream which shows the finish of the race.

(Not sure whether you are using a EETV box or Sky box to view - my EPG comments relate to what I see on EETv EPG)

Yes it is disappointing that whoever is in charge of TNT Sports 1 broadcasting didn’t advise viewers on screen of the curtailing of the cycling coverage and how the subscribers could continue coverage. I suspect the cycling commentators were providing default English language commentary for the event , that would be available feed available on a number of platforms and would have no direct knowledge of which channels their feed was being broadcast on.
So only a voice over that TNT Sports tend not to employ or an on screen ticker tape message to switch channels/source which has been used in the past would warn the viewer.
