HBO shows are not available?

I have just logged into HBO Max with my log in details from Discovery + and have found that i cant access any shows or movies from the streaming service, only TNT sports. With Discover+ i was able to watch other content on the streaming service, so has this changed with HBO Max?

Will HBO content ever be available?

For anyone who subscribed to TNT Sports via EE TV before today, your access to the discovery+ will remain active. You can continue to watch Entertainment in the discovery+ app, and TNT Sports in the HBO Max app. HBO Max entertainment content will not be available as part of a sport subscription.

As Darren has said Discovery + is still available as before, it is just TNT sports that as moved - I moved on to HBO Max this morning for TNT and also checked Discovery plus and it still worked fine .

Trying to phone BT to see if I can cancel TNT Sports on BT to take advantage of more cost effective package on HBO Max but getting no answer. Six tries so far, waiting time in excess of 45 minutes...

Call volumes are higher than normal today due to the HBO Max launch.

What subscription do you have @Bryce_Brennan ?

Full contracted Sports package with HD add on.

If it's a TV subscription then it would depend on your EE TV contract. You could flex to entertainment using the My BT app or web site if you're a BT Broadband customer. If you're with EE Broadband then waiting on the phone is the only option I'm afraid.

@DarrenDev Option to flex to TNT Sports on HBO Max is for EE TV only. No option for BT Broadband customers to utilise TNT Sports on HBO Max via Sky.

If you have the TNT sports package you can’t watch anything else unless you change your subscription, it’s all about getting more money out of your wallet. So you’re getting less not more

@DarrenDev I’ve paid bt directly for bt/tnt sports on sky (sky+hd box) since 2017, so before sky were allowed to sell it direct to customers and in the time when bt allowed orders without broadband on the account.

in that time I’ve had access via the old bt sports app, the discovery plus app and now hbo max with the entertainment via discovery.

now my displeasure lies in the inability to add an hbo entertainment tier to my hbo sports plan via my bt account especially given that this is the only way i can access the content via an app without upgrading my sky hardware.

furthermore it seems that bt would fundamentally be willing to block me from giving them more money.

I appreciate you don’t make the decisions but I was just wondering if you had an inkling as to why this decision was made and whether the ability to add it to you bt bill will be added in the future?

If you were a Discovery+ customer before today nothing changes, you can still view content on the Discovery+ app. It's TNT Sport that has moved which, if you have a sub, you now view via the HBO Max app. So in effect nothing has changed.

Cheers @Hunter2660 . I have TNT Sports through my BT broadband contract via the Sky TV platform and streaming it on HBO Max isn't an issue as I transferred it over this morning. What I want to do is combine TNT Sports with HBO Max as it is a much better price than my current deal with BT. So, I want to cancel TNT Sports with BT but unfortunately there's no way of getting through to speak to someone...

@DarrenDev I’ve discovered that I can pay hbo max separately for the hbo entertainment if I wanted to on the same hbo account as my bt tnt sports subscription, so I’m all good now

Are we meant to be able to view the sports in the HBO app without subscribing in the HBO app?

my log in on HBO says manage my subscription through Discovery, so I can’t upgrade to see HBO shows and films. And when I log into discovery it says manage my account with BT, but I’m no longer with BT, so I can’t change anything

Hi, the sports wasn’t the issue it was changing plan to get HBO too. Says manage through discovery, log in to discovery and it says manage through BT and I don’t have BT now

@stewarthastings try logging into hbo via the website and go to manage subscriptions and you should be able to add an entertainment tier there by paying hbo direct for that plan

No it sends me an endless loop of manage plan on discovery and discovery says manage plan in BT but I can’t get there anymore so just started a new account with a new email but thanks

The following is the advice posted today ( 28 March on EE community)

“It should be possible to add a direct paid subscription for the other tiers, however for some people the option isn't visible. The data is being cleansed next week, to hopefully resolve that. Keep checking the HBO Max web site subscriptions page for an option to add more content. “
