Tour de France subs

My dad is watching the Tour de France on catch-up using the HBO Max app on an EE box. We’ve only had it since Friday so I’m guessing it’s the latest model.
I cannot for the life of me figure out how to get the subtitles on for my elderly deaf father. He’s already watched two stages without any access to the commentary.
And this is the who reason why I subscribed him to to BT TNT so he could watch the the Tour.

Please can anyone help?
I’ve tried various buttons on the control, and in settings could only find a section to change the colour and font !! 🙄

Press the up arrow button above the OK button on the remote control twice when you are watching and that should take you to the audio and subtitles option. Press ok and you will be able to access the subtitles options to turn them on.
