Why Can't I Cancel TNT Sport Online?

I realise this has been asked before, but why, seemingly, can't I cancel TNT sport online? Why isn't there a simple 'cancel' button? If anybody knows how to do this, please could you let me know, as it's not at all clear on the site if this method is available. I resent being made to waste time calling someone to do what should be a simple task online.

Can I cancel my discovery+ Premium (incl. TNT Sports)?

Yes, you can cancel your account at any time, no strings attached.

Simply log into MyBT, find discovery+ Premium (incl. TNT Sports) and choose ‘Cancel subscription’.

When you cancel, you can carry on watching content until your existing months billing period expires.

You need to cancel your subscription the day before it’s due to renew at the latest. You can check when your subscription is due to renew in MyBT.

This is not true all I get when I try is the advertisements for buying the TNT Sports + Discovery Plus and it is like I'm not logged in, I click the login on the banner and it just takes me back to my BT login and then I'm right at the start again.

I go to manage my TNT package and it just wants me to upgrade to HD or says We can't process this right now please call us.

I've looked all over my account and can't find this cancel button that everybody says is easy to find, and when you go to Discovery Plus it just says to change your subscription you need to EE/BT to manage your subscription.

this is just a joke as I don't want to have to ring up BT to just cancel a simple subscription that I only got to watch the Champions League when it said I could cancel any time I wanted.

@DanielA2706 those instructions only apply to users who have purchased a monthly pass at £29.99/month. They can pause/resume their subscription at any time, as it's not tied to a BT Broadband or TV subscription.

Your subscription is tied to your BT Broadband account, and as with all other BT services you need to talk to us to cancel.

Edit (sorry, I was wrong with my previous comment). To cancel, it appears you do need to call us:

You could try the online chat option first if you want - let us know if that works.

I've just had the same experience when seeking to cancel the rolling monthly TNT Sports via the Discovery + app.
I had to call BT to cancel it and it took a manager to be finally able to remove the subscription.

Quite a rigmarole for something that should be simple.

This saga continues… I called up BT and cancelled the rolling monthly subscription on Tuesday (13th Feb) and the confirmation email stated the service would stop on 14 March.
Just logged into the Discovery+ app this morning and the subscription is already no longer active; yet I’ve still been charged.

Another phone call to BT this morning resulting in a credit to my account, however how this has happened remains a mystery. Hopefully that’s an end to it.
I’d beware anyone adding this monthly TNT subscription to their account: the hassle simply isn't worth it and the call centre Guides - whilst always helpful - clearly aren’t properly informed about how all this is supposed to operate.

Yeah, I’ve just had to phone up as you cannot cancel online.
And even then I’ve been told it’s cancelled on their end but I won’t see it.
And will have to reply NO to a txt they’ll send at the renewal point.
So I don’t have any evidence at my end that I have cancelled, on the off chance that something has not gone through at theirs.

What a complete con. Both that you have to phone and wait. And then that there’s nothing online to show you have.
I thought this was a reasonable deal but it really isn’t worth the hassle.

To cancel online, I initiated an online chat and went through my choices, it will then tell you that you can't cancel online and to call them, I then selected that I still needed to chat as I 'hadn't finished' and my question was about my account and then billing, the advisor then joined and could see I initially asked to cancel my TNT (even through I wasn't talking to him at that point and only talking to the 'bot ' ), once my id/account was verified (via pin to my mobile and an email) they cancelled it for me. Usual 30 days from cancelation period

I had fun and games today with the TNT sports on HBO rolling contract.
According to the website page describing this i can cancel and manage this 1 month contract as many times as I can.

As previous posters hve said this has to done by telephoning BT. Well I did exactly that. And whilst tying to have the cancellation, which finally was made, I was bombarded by the BT call handler on how they can offer me better deals for their mobile phone services.

No wonder there is not a simple cancellation button on the MyBT page to do do this, as it appears that these operators are no mor ethan sales people using methods that go back to the last century. Talk about being annoying and persistant.

So I am reluctant to restart the sports 1 month contract, as and when I need it, as I can not face this nonsense every time. For heaven's sake, just put a simple cancel and start button on the webpage!!

You can't downgrade without speaking to someone in a call centre because that clearly means a loss of revenue for the organisation concerned. More regulation should be introduced to force all companies into allowing customers to downgrade any area of service they have taken subject to contract limits, without the need to even speak to whoever provides that service. It's yet again another method of making life as utterly awkward as possible for the customer whilst giving the organisation the benefit that some customers will just give up trying to cancel subscriptions. Only by speaking out against these practices will anything change.

This is why subscribing direct to Now is so attractive, you can cancel online with little fuss...... you will usually get an offer to keep the subscription when you do. So easy, if you can do without the recording facility through the Pro Box.

Agreed. I've subscribed and cancelled with Now on numerous occasions for various channels. It's very easy to cancel and very easy to restart.

If Now carried TNT Sports I would cetainly go to them for the ease of stopping and starting as you have described. I presume that they do not waffle on with loads of sales pitch stuff, which is basiclly wht the operatives at BT are doing.

If you buy a standalone TNT Sports pass via BT, you can stop and start it online whenever you want.
If you buy it discounted as part of a broadband or TV subscription, you need to call.

You can also buy a discounted TNT sub through Amazon Prime, if you have Prime, for 12 months, cancel online. It can be done.

After receiving an email about TNT Sports not being free anymore and £15 a month I went to manage account as advised in MyBT account. Click to manage and told to ring a number to cancel- as usual go to keypad for options - clicked then sent a text - clicked options again then given another number to ring - put in a queue with some 'music?' for ages and eventually spoke to someone! He told me a text would be sent for security - didn't receive. Had to go through security check. Cancelled order which took another 5 minutes on hold. Got a little bit of a sales pitch but he eventually got the message I wanted to cancel but would need return the BT set top box - fine there are other services. A process that took over 30 minutes. The point I am making is that you should be able to do this straight away online - what a palaver BT!

'BT Guides' seem to be all about the sales pitch and I would presume commission. Online chats can take an hour after all the waiting between messages. Nothing is easy except upgrading and you are only upgrading the amount you pay not the service you receive.

I was a customer for years. I have now ended my contract for free, received a refund (after much badgering) and moved to Satellite.
