Can i get rid off landline but keep BT TV?

I currently have a landline, Broadband and BT TV. I don't use the landline for calls and want to know if i can get rid of the landline but still have Broadband and BT TV?

Just had a online chat with an "advisor" who has stated that i need to keep my landline @ £12.02 because i need a calling plan. Tried to explain that i do not make landline calls. Asked to have a UK based agent call me but she said she couldn't arrange that! 😞

You will probably need to wait until your current contract ends, then when you renew it, you can opt for the broadband only option which is a bit cheaper, as the phone element (not line rental) is removed. You still need to pay line rental.

If you look on the BT website , there are telephony/broadband and lone broadband packages, the packages that come with telephony are £5 more that the equivalent standalone broadband package , but that £5 saving is sometimes only a £2 saving , and is incorrectly portrayed as the cost of PAYG calls package, ( if you have telephony you must also have a calls package , PAYG being the cheapest )

A new customer could select a broadband only package , existing customers that have telephony and broadband may have to cease the existing dual service and take the broadband only service ( potentially saving £2-£5 ) but may have to check they are not in contract otherwise ETC may apply.
