moving home & new address does not have a landline & not on Royal Mail postcodes

I hope someone can help. I'm moving home on Friday & new address is not registered with Royal Mail yet so can't get a LL installed with open reach.

I have requested this with Royal Mail but won't be ready until after the move.

I believe I can get a box to connect to broadband until the service is installed . How do I go about getting one from BT as I'll be paying for my service but not able to access broad band services

Unfortunately its going to be difficult if not impossible to get a line installed. Once you have been added to the Royal Mail Postcode Database, then

You would need to follow the process for ordering a new phone line first. Once that has been provided, then the Openreach database will be updated and you will be able to see what broadband options are available to you.

Place an order for a line only using this link - https://www.bt.com/landline/deals

If the address doesn't appear properly when you enter the postcode, there is a section underneath where you can manually enter the address. This will raise the order with the address showing as bronze and it will prompt Openreach to carry out a survey to confirm the routing. Once the routing is updated the order will then progress as normal. You can then add broadband once you have the line up and running.

Once you have a broadband order with BT, you should be able to use any BT Wi-Fi hotspots, while you wait for service to be activated.

Yes it should, provided you have mobile (EE) coverage.

are you an existing BT customer moving home and taking existing package with you?

Is your new home a new build and if so is there fibre ONT already in home?

Hi yes I am an existing customer with halo package.

It isn't a new build it's a mobile home on a plot of land .

The main house has a landline but we won't be living there as we are doing a conversion

TBH, mentioning the mobile home probably should have been made initially not as an afterthought.

BT/OR are under no obligation to serve non standard dwellings , especially as compensation etc. can be claimed against failed/delayed installations , although service to caravans can sometimes be done , obviously a mobile home in the grounds of a dwelling is not going to be standard install and may need extra work , possibly paid for by the customer, unless they undertake this work themselves.

Ordering a line for the main property and expecting the installation to be made into the mobile home may not be possible either….if this were a builders cabin ( for example) being served then an appropriate business order type could be raised to get a ‘survey’ to see how the cabin could get service , and explore what the developer was prepared to do to reduce costs , if you are trying to get a residential service , it may prove difficult , or possibly impossible to arrange as a standard install, you may need a business type order.

Is the general area overhead service ( telegraph poles ) or underground service ( jointboxes and ducts ) , if overhead then service may be reasonably inexpensive, but if duct need to be laid it could get expensive

Overhead cables are all close by, if we can't get an installation & phone line then we would have to terminate our contract

The main house has it's own line from BT .

Certainly don't mind paying for the installation ... just need to find a way of doing so
