Refer a friend not working and helpline says we are not aware of the Amazon gift card scheme

Got an email after joining BT to refer a friend and get £50 Amazon vouchers each.

Referred a friend and no trace of any referral confirmation or reward.

I tried calling the helpline on the number 0800 800 150 and they are now saying we are not aware of this scheme in BT.
