I’m unable to find any link that tells me how to recycle my old router- and yes, I’ve looked in My BT etc. I don’t want to get charged for it but am unable to get through on the phone lines either. What should I do? Surprisingly, I’m unable to sit on hold for 24 hours as seems to be the only option. Any advice?

Try calling BT when they are not on strike, such as tomorrow and you might get through quicker than being on hold for 24 hours.
