I've still got a year left on my current broadband contract when is the earliest I can upgrade?

You can upgrade at any time but it will require you to start an new contract with the package you choose.

There should be no fee for terminating the "old" contract early because you are staying with BT on what I assume will be a more expensive package.

If you call BT 0330 1234 150 they should be able to confirm this and carry out the upgrade.

Hi @Tov81, that's good advice from @gg30340 and you should be able to upgrade your package now without cancellation charges on the existing contract.
