      <description>&lt;P&gt;Hello, I’m wanting to cancel my BT broadband and go with another provider. Apparently I can only do this over the phone but with work I struggle to find the time. Is there any other way I can cancel?&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;If switching to another provider using the Openreach infrastructure then the big providers usually notify your current provider for you. Just make sure you are out of contract&lt;/P&gt;

&lt;P&gt;Cancelling BT first would leave a pending cease on the line and a new provider would not be able to place an order until the cease completes, which could be 10 days or more.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;The process explained by&amp;nbsp;&lt;a href="https://community.bt.com/t5/user/viewprofilepage/user-id/82387"&gt;@jac_95&lt;/a&gt;&amp;nbsp;is the correct way.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Place your order with your new provider, and &lt;STRONG&gt;they&lt;/STRONG&gt; inform BT, but make sure you are out of contract first, otherwise you could end up with a large cancellation charge.&lt;/P&gt;
