No internet and delay activation

I'm having a lot of trouble with BT, I moved to a new house and I had to wait for the external box to be built to connect the internet, but BT send me the modem, Openreach did everything inside and outside my house and after that they said to me to connect the BT modem, after two weeks I still without internet, I call on BT everyday and nobody can solve the problem, my neighbor is already connected, can I give up BT?
