Halo 3 downgrade to Fibre Essential contract

Hi, I’ve just got off the chat with a BT agent. My contract finishes in September 2023 and I’m looking to reduce my outgoings which with some additions come to £81 per month. The issue I have is that when I suggest moving from Halo 3 to Fibre Essentials, I’m told I can’t do it as it’s not in My BT option. I know I’m talking about £44 a month for Halo 3 to £27.99 a month for fibre essential but they flatly refuse to tell me why I can’t do it. At this rate, I’m now thinking of changing to a competitor. Can anyone have an answer? Tia

No reason you can't move if you qualify for home essential

Thanks for the quick response, however the downgrade package was fibre essential rather than home essential.

Fibre Essential is for new customers only as far as I can tell as are Fibre 1 & 2 offers.

Whick package do you currently have? What extras do you have?

Is it FTTC OR FTTP?
