I have been a BT customer for donkeys years. Speed has always been a problem due, I think to Ali wiring.

Anyway, my current deal is £40 a month for Halo3. Guaranteed speed of 18mps. 2 year contract up in 2025.

But I have just seen this. Is it worth me trying to negotiate a deal thatis more in line with the speed I actually get?

It's a new customer only deal, so you would lose a few things you have now as an existing customer.

You would lose your existing phone number.
You would not be able to have free email addresses provided under your current account, it's possible to pay for premium mail but that's £7.50 per month and wipes out any savings made by taking over the line
The same with BT cloud if you use it.

I also don't think you'd be able to order it, you said your line now is 18mbps guaranteed so around 25mbps estimated, Fibre 2 is sold when speeds are over 55mbps

You'd also lose your Halo benefits.
