Moving house, no BT fttp available at new address

I have BT FTTP at my current address (contracted in March I think). I will probably be moving soon and the new property doesn't have the same service (no BT FTTP according to BT checker and deals available on their website). Will I be able to end my contract early without penalty?.

Full fibre is available, but through City Fibre.

No you would not be able to cancel your contract unless BT Retail cannot provide any form of broadband connection at your new address.

The remainder of your contract would be carried over to your new address, and once that ends, you would be free to move to a different provider.

Use the BT Home Move process to ensure things go smoothly.

Only if BT cannot provide a broadband connection to your new property. It does not need to be FTTP but can be FTTC or even ADSL

Oh great. I have to move because of failing health. Guess I'll be buying my way out 🙄. I don't fancy the downgrade, even to fttc.

Sorry to hear that you have move due to health.

If you leave BT where will you get your broadband from?

Unless there is an Alt Net or Virgin that covers the new house you will still be using the Openreach network so who ever you go with the speed will be the same as BT could supply.
