Free WiFi Disc with BT Full Fibre 900

When I upgraded to full fibre 900 the agent said I would get a WiFi disc as part of the package but I haven't yet received one & I can't see any mention of it in My BT.

The upgrade will be done next Monday.

Is what he told me correct?

The disc is provided as part of the BT Complete Wi-Fi package, which is an addition. That would be shown as an extra on your order as an additional charge.

Hmmm, that's certainly not what the agent said.

He just said " you'll also get a WiFi disc with the upgrade to 900" but nothing about a complete WiFi package at an extra cost.

Its possible its an "upsell", were they include it in the package at no extra cost until you come to renew, when its added to the cost.

I wouldn't have given it a thought if the agent hadn't mentioned it.

As a freebie it would be interesting to see how it competes with my mesh system, but I'm not that interested I'd pay to find out. 😁

If you have a mesh system, it will almost certainly interfere with it.

You are going to have to disable the wireless on the Smart Hub 2, otherwise that will interfere with your mesh. Doing that is going to stop any BT disc from working anyway, so its a bit of a waste of time.

I'd have completely removed the mesh system & then tested the disc.

If the freebie disc had done what the mesh does I'd have had time to return the mesh system to Amazon. Lol

Hi @caravanj Unless I have missed it, the complete wifi discs are free in any case, as they are loaned to you as part of the complete wifi subscription.

Rather than start a new thread it seems logical to use this existing one.

I've just updated the My BT app & I came across my package details which says I have Complete WiFi.

Confusingly, BT offers two different mesh systems with similar names. The black discs link to the Smarthub2 which becomes part of the mesh system. You get a single black disc free when you opt for Complete Wifi and, after linking it to the Smarthub, you can place this somewhere around your house to increase the Hub's WiFi coverage. However, if you want extra black discs you have to apply to BT and, I think, pay for them.
The white disc system ("BT Whole Home") operates independently from the Smarthub2 with a different SSID and, as has been said, you often (but not always) need to disable the Hub WiFi for it to operate well. The Wholehome package contains 3 discs, one of which has to be plugged into the Smarthub with an ethernet cable, the other are positioned around the house. Extra discs are easily available (at a price of course) and simple to add to the system. My rather rambling house with lots of thick walls needs 4 discs in total to give me good WiFi coverage.

I originally raised my query as I'd been told by the BT agent that I would get a WiFi disc but never received one & at the time forum replies suggested the disc only comes with Complete WiFi & it wasn't until today I found the email which said I do have a Full Fibre 900 Complete Wi-Fi package.

Would one of the mods be able to check that my package does in fact include Complete Wi-Fi & that I am eligible for a Wi-Fi disk?
