I was told no contract cancel charges but the tv package they could not do, that is yes they can sign me over to EE but lose the sports. Offered to sign me back to BT to keep sports for another 24 moths but with a EE mobile sim only deal (which is rather good).

All very confusing.

So I stand back and await the dust to settle.

BT To EE Migration

Hey,

I currently get the fibre900 package with BT, alongside BT TV including BTsports and SkySports alongside the NOWTV entertainment package.

Like most of you I've read the consumer arm of BT is now being rebranded as part ofEE. I am keen to move across to EE so I can take advantage of the 1.6 GBPS internet speed and get the new wifi6 router EE have. Alongside that I want to move my TV package over to EE and use the new EETV Pro Box.

I've rang twice now and all I've received is confusion. The first call made three weeks ago...they told me I should receive an email or letter explaining the transfer from BT to EE and will also outline the upgrades. They then tried to sell me a mobile contract. Didn't receive that email or letter in the end.

The second call I made today to BT and they tried to charge me nearly £900 to come out of my contract. Even though I was told previously there would be no cancellation fee for moving between BT and EE.

Circling back now, has anyone had any clarity on whats happening? Or managed to move over their internet and tv package to EE?

Cheers!

I had the same problem as you apart from the tv box, I'm on the same package which is Halo 3 with FF900mb, but after a lot of confusion and being passed from pillar to post, and after another hour on the phone today to both EE & BT, I think I've sorted the mess out and maybe getting the 1.6gb minus digital voice and hybrid connect. And no exit fees of nearly £900.

But the truth will out come Thurs / Fri.

I made the actual switch just last Thursday and its been nothing short of a disaster. Constant problems and I think I've spent 6/7 hours on the phone trying to sort out problems with the migration and contract etc. What could have gone wrong has gone wrong. Hoping it all resolves itself in the next week or so.

I wouldn’t hold your breath. I moved from BT to EE last November. Total joke unable to access account. Told lies about equipment provided. Multiple searches against my name trying to fulfill orders resulting in credit hit. I made a formal complaint. Person who assisted was polite and helpful but could not get issues resolved. I was allowed to leave with cancellations charges refunded eventually. Sorry but EE have become a total mess. Now with another provider , cheaper with no mid term price increases. And my speeds are quicker.

BT and EE partnership. For digital voice, to backup over cellular service in case of power cut no internet/wifi. Or logging in to bt hotspots just an EE login page instead of BT. No migration as your thinking is there? I wouldn't touch EE with a barge pole

Just had another chat with BT, as I got 2 emails, One about sending the equipment back, the 2nd one was that the order had been cancelled, and then a text message about an internal system error, which they were unaware of.

So I when I phoned I got a chap in Truro, and he said that the 1.6gb is only available as a NEW contract, and can't be switched internally. So I asked could I take the 900mb minus the setup fee, as I'm quite capable of switching modems and other equipment, and when he tried the EE system flagged up as a 2nd warning for a missed bill, which I'd already paid.

And now it's another 24 hours wait, as they remove the flag from the EE system.

I think we're all well advised to leave migration from BT ro EE well alone until BT finally sorts out the process and gets its act together (which could be a little while I think!).
There have been an awful lot of reports of total confusion with people who have gone for this migration, and a seeming inability of BT/EE to put matters right when they've gone horribly wrong.
Rather like their rushing out the new webmail format before it was properly tested, BT seems to have done the same thing with offering BT to EE migrations before their processes for doing this have been properly thought through and tested.

Another call today and more issues - I noticed the hard credit checks too. Anyone reading this stay well clear! I waited a few months after all of this was announced. Its becoming a part time job taking to EE and BT on the phone.

Had one last chat with BT / EE as there was a flag on my account, which was stopping them processing new orders.

But when the flag did get removed, and we got to the ordering process, the system wanted more money for the same speed, which is 900mb instead of the web price of £59.99, and that again is for new contracts only.

So I cancelled the order and then phoned the dedicated EE helpline and got the account closed and asked for a jiffy bag to return the equipment, that was sent in mistake.
