there is no large upfront payment for LRS and therefore there is no monthly reduction so affectively you pay the agreed package price

LRS gave you the equivalent of around 1 month line rental free, worth around £21 over a 12 month period

All LRS became was a £20 a year ‘discount’ , for paying around £220 upfront in advance you had a £20 discount on the monthly bill , 12* £20=240 , so as stated , you pay £20 per month more but you don’t pay £220 upfront, presumably the main reason it was removed is that broadband includes line rental ( and most customers have broadband ) it became a product that its name Line Rental Saver didn’t really represent its function anymore
