Broadband Contract end early

Good morning,

I have just decided to change my broadband provider, leaving BT (due to financial reasons) and moving to the new provided in approx. two weeks. I was under the impression I was out of my BT contract but unfortunately I am still in contract till July of this year.

I understand there will be a penalty for ending early, does anyone know how to determine what the actual charge will be, I will be ending early by 4 months.

Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Worth noting that figures quoted in that link are just for illustration. You won't know the actual figure until BT provide it. I would think it's almost certainly going to be better financially to cancel the switch & rebook it to coincide with the end of your contract.

Coincidentally, the example BT use for explaining ETC and how the amount is calculated is based on someone with 4 months of a minimum term remaining, although it’s based on someone paying £35 a month , you may pay a different monthly amount, it should give you a reasonable idea of your liability and a ballpark figure of the ETC ,
