Thanks. Sounds reasonable except (a) to the best of my knowledge I have not changed any settings and (b) it happens both on my computer and phone. Can you suggest how I check both the two factor authentication and the cookie settings?

My BT account has recently kept asking to send me a security code to phone or email every time I try to log in, despite using the same computer as previously. Particularly annoying as it also seems to log me out every time I close the computer. Any suggestions on how to stop both these?

You may have two factor authentication activated and your browser may be deleting the cookies that identify your computer when you close the browser and as such it appears to the system that a new device is trying to access your account when you next try to log on.

See link for 2FA being set up.

You would need to check your browser settings to see if you have ticked a box "Delete Cookies on Exit".
