Halo3 or Halo3+ ?, both add costs to the standard service, 3+ significant costs as it includes home WiFi extenders , unbreakable 4g connectivity ( in the event of the ‘landline’ service going off ), a yearly technical home visit to check your home setup is optimal, and extras on mobile data ( assuming you have a BT/EE mobile plan ) , for many these extras are probably not essential.

If you have experimented with costs posing as a new customer you need to add these extras on for a proper comparison….renewing on the basis of the ‘offer’ on your ‘My BT’ or a letter sent is probably not the best idea , you need to call retentions , armed with a competitor price , and with the threat of leaving ….FWIW , another benefit supposedly of Halo3+ is a guarantee of not paying more than a new customer, but that’s a new customer taking a Halo3+ not a standard customer.

If you do call to negotiate, don’t be surprised if the EE deal on offer is better than the BT one , encouraging you to move to EE is part of the overarching corporate strategy

Higher price than a new customer! Why am I getting scammed?!

Hey all,

I got a letter that my contract is due soon and thought I'd have a look at the deals that are offered.

Upon closer inspection, a new customer would have to pay £47.99 pcm for the Full Fibre 900 Broadband package; and I could keep my price for £75.51 pcm, for the FF 900 Broadband with Halo 3.

What is Halo 3 and how does that differ from the other broadband package for a new customer?

I tried to set up a new account for a different address (2 doors down) and was hoping that maybe that price will increase by the time I get to checkout....to my surprise, absolutely no change!

Now, my question is...if I have the Price Promise package, why do my prices differ from a new customer package?!
It's not a difference of like 2 quid....it's almost 30 quid difference!

I am planning on calling in a week when I am back from holiday, but thought maybe someone knows better and can elaborate from me.

Thank you

if you are happy with the package you are getting and the price you could always NOT renew your contact and carry on paying the same price and the hike in april . i have been out of contract on bb,eetv for 6 months and mobile for 3 years
