Should I just cancel?

I signed up for FTTP in mid October, as my BT deal was ending at the end of that month. Within a few days, I had a chap round marking up the pavement to get a cable dug.

then the router came in the post.

i thought this is going well.

a couple of weeks later I was given my installation date - 30th December.

then I got a call from Openreach, asking if they could park their van on my drive.

now, with a week to go , the installation date has moved to 25th February 2025.

is this normal?

meanwhile my existing BT contract has reverted to a full price .

should I just give up with BT and go elsewhere?

Hi @Toastandjam0 If the “elsewhere” is on the Openreach network, then what will you gain?

If it’s waiting for a Civils Dig I’d ignore the Installation Date.

Openreach will normally push the date back as far as they can while it’s waiting for Civils to stop the job from failing. Once the Civils is done they’ll bring it forward again.
