Return of Hub necessary if new house owners taking over service?

I am selling a house and BT have informed me that the buyers intend to take over the Digital Voice Service from the date of completion (I will no longer require it) In these circumstances do I need to return the Smart Hub 2 or do I leave it at the property for the new owners? BT have not said anything about returning the Hub but I don't want to find out that I should have returned it after I can no longer gain access to the property. Also there are 2 Essentials Digital Voice Handsets, I would be happy to leave them at the property but again should I return them? I don't know if the handsets can be reprogrammed to work with a different Hub/telephone number anyway? I have no idea if the buyers are already with BT and/or have their own equipment. I cannot find the answers to the above anywhere on the BT site.

If the new occupants are to use BT then they will have , or will get a BT hub of their own, so you don’t leave yours , as far as theDV handsets , it probably depends on the basis they were supplied wether you will be asked to return them , but you don’t leave handsets for the new occupants in case you re asked to return them

As far as I'm aware, handsets are not required to be returned, hubs are.

Being pedantic, they won't take over anything. Your service will cease and theirs will commence.

Yes I see, thank you. The 'Essentials' Digital Voice handsets were provided free by BT at the time but I think this is no longer the case. My home BT service (not the property I am selling) is likely to be switched over to Digital Voice in the near future, any idea if these handsets work if synched to a new Hub/ number?

Yes they will, they are not linked to any particular hub.

De-register them from the old hub before leaving.
