BT's "special offers"

I've just had a snailmail from BT saying "Hi, as a thank-you as a loyal customer we are offering some special deals for you. Just go to (a given) website and login to make your choice.

So I thought I'd give that a try....and all three of the "special offers" were more expensive than my current contract - which doesn't run out until late December. These offers didn't offer any new features or improve the guaranteed broadband speed, and in fact the EE offer guaranteed a lower speed than the BT guarantee - which doesn't make any sense.

What a waste of my time (and BT's putting together these "offers") and some thank you for my loyalty!

I've not bothered having a contract for years, but whenever I login to my account none of the 'special offers' have anything of value to offer. You're right, it's a waste of time, and frankly a bit of a con; make people think they need to have a contract then offer them 'special offers' of no value.

Same with the Blue light card discount...pointless.

I have been with BT for 46 years and now out of contract. Looking at the price tariffs the prices are insane. I am on Fibre Halo 3 paying around £51 per month with an email saying that new customers would pay £72. Then over the phone I was offered in March, Fibre 300 for £44. Virgin are offering a deal for £29.99 per month.
