BT pricing is a joke

Can somebody explain to me why I’m offered £35 for Fibre 100 with phone on BT’s website but when I login to complete the purchase it changes to £68? I thought, as a Halo customer, there was a promise I would not pay more than a new customer?

If this is the best BT can do, I’m off to Sky. They can offer me £35 including an Essential TV package.

was the offer of £35 for fibre 100 excluding Halo? Halo is an expensive add on.

If time to renew try contacting the retention team 08007831401 and see what you can negotiate. If you have a full fibre connection maybe consider dropping the add on for Halo and save some money

In BT land Halo equals idiot customer who will seemingly accept any deal.

Best jump ship to Sky as it's very difficult to get rid of Halo and frankly does anyone need this hassle?

Ha, Ha, Ha…and the webpage conveniently misses the word “Halo” out does it? So, it’s underhand doorstep salesman tactics then. Disgraceful.

@Kodikid You’re right…who needs Halo? I seem to recall it was a free upgrade. What a con. I never asked for it. I never used it. I don’t want it. I’m damned well not going to jump through hoops to get it removed.

I don’t know if you’re listening BT, but I’ll do you the curtesy of 48 hours grace before I move to Sky. If you haven’t contacted me with a substantially better offer by then, it’s goodbye!

Your CEO may think you can tolerate a declining market share and still maintain profitability but that only works up to a point. Think on!

this is a customer help customer forum and as you post does not go to BT then you are not going to get contacted by BT about your contract

@StuartHK - The Halo price promise (classic BT misleading advertising) is a complete joke - it relates to like for like 'Halo' products. So you will supposedly never pay more for a Halo package, than a new customer. BUT.....try to find out the Halo prices online, they are apparently a secret. Even if you try calling CS, they will struggle to tell you the new customer price or provide an online link.

This forum is now just a place to moan and not be listened to. Some will strangely defend BT like there life depends on it and the MODS will refer you to CS or Retentions, like BT are desperate to retain your loyalty - they are not.

Either negotiate with a lengthy telephone call.....or LEAVE ASAP.

If you are prepared to switch to a different service, then do your homework, find out what's available elsewhere, and then request a one-touch switch. At that point, BT may come back to you with a substantially better offer.

*Personally, my choice was guided by more than just price. The cheapest large provider (the one you mentioned) has serious issues that rule it out for me, as do any ISPs that don't support IPv6 (I've about 30 "Thread" devices).

I have just cancelled my Big Sport contract and will be cancelling my broadband shortly. I have now taken up Sky stream direct, better deal overall, and a local company will be getting my custom for broadband at £25 for two years ( no increase) for 300mb Full fibre..

BT don't have full fibre in my area so it's bye bye BT or Openreach.

@Crimliar I agree with you, (on a number of those points), but unfortunately for BT, I don't believe in messing an 'innocent' third-party about. If I initiate the move I'll follow through with it. For me not to, BT would have to virtually give it me for free.
