My BT business account number: *********

I had a 24-month contract ending on 30 July 2025.

On 30 June 2025, I called BT to give my 30-day notice to prevent an automatic renewal for another 2 years. Once the service ended, I returned all equipment (router and phone) using BT’s provided return packaging and sent confirmation of the return.

However, in the My BT app, charges are still appearing, and money has been taken from my account. The last bill shows £19.82 for "Bundled service – Broadband and internet". I am concerned that further charges may be applied despite my contract being completed and all equipment returned.

Please urgently check this matter and explain why charges are still being taken after the contract ended. I believe there should be no additional costs in this situation.

Thank you in advance for your assistance.

The date the bill production for your account is instigated is unlikely to match up to your contract end date , so it’s perfectly normal to receive a ‘bill’ after service has been ceased , any overpayment for days paid for after the cessation date are refunded , usually by reverse direct debit , that’s assuming DD was the method used to pay your bill , that’s why it’s a bad idea to cancel a DD , as obviously any attempt to refund any overpayment will fail if the DD has been cancelled.

Assuming your notice was successfully served on 30 June to take effect 30 July , you are being a little premature to be overly concerned after such a short period of time, it’s barely a week since your cessation , and even if you pay almost a full month with no BT service ( the actual amount depends on when the bill is produced compared to the end of your contract, it may only be a few days ) , that amount is refunded by the next billing cycle .
