      <title>Default Notice On Account</title>

      <description>&lt;P class=""&gt;Hi all,&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P class=""&gt;I really need some help as BT have placed a default on my credit file for £41.50, and it’s stopping me getting essential car finance for my pregnant wife.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P class=""&gt;Here’s the situation:&lt;BR /&gt;I moved out of my BT-serviced property in &lt;SPAN class=""&gt;July 2024&lt;/SPAN&gt;.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P class=""&gt;I &lt;SPAN class=""&gt;gave BT notice&lt;/SPAN&gt;, and I &lt;SPAN class=""&gt;returned all equipment&lt;/SPAN&gt; (I have the confirmation email).&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P class=""&gt;I was paying month-to-month, not under a fixed contract.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P class=""&gt;After moving, BT continued trying to charge me for broadband at the address I no longer lived at.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P class=""&gt;I cancelled the Direct Debit because I wasn’t paying for someone else’s internet.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P class=""&gt;&lt;SPAN class=""&gt;I received &lt;/SPAN&gt;no bills&lt;SPAN class=""&gt;, &lt;/SPAN&gt;no final notice&lt;SPAN class=""&gt;, and &lt;/SPAN&gt;no notice of default&lt;SPAN class=""&gt; at the time.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P class=""&gt;The only emails I got were weeks later (August 2024) asking for £41.50, but by then BT had already applied a default without warning.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P class=""&gt;This default has been added &lt;SPAN class=""&gt;incorrectly&lt;/SPAN&gt;, without proper communication, and is now severely affecting me.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P class=""&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P class=""&gt;I’m asking for anyone who can help me get this default removed from my credit file&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P class=""&gt;I am more than willing to settle the £41.50 immediately once the dispute is acknowledged, but I need the credit file error fixed urgently.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P class=""&gt;Any help from anyone with similar experience or a BT Moderator would be hugely appreciated.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P class=""&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>
