Hello,

I signed up yesterday to switch my broadband from Sky to BT using TopCashback so I can receive the cashback and BT reward credit.

I added the EE TV package as it is currently offered at 2 pounds per month for 6 months.

I would like to know if I can cancel the EE TV package before the price increases after the 6-month period. I do not watch live TV and do not have a TV licence, so I may not need this service long term.

I am concerned about whether cancelling the TV package before the 24-month contract ends would result in early termination charges.

I would also like to understand if cancelling the TV package (either during the cooling-off period or later) would affect my TopCashback claim.

Would it be better to cancel the TV package now, or keep it for 6 months and cancel later?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thank you.

Topcashback and BT fibre broadband package query

Hello,

I recently signed up (yesterday) to switch my broadband from Sky to BT using the TopCashback link, so I can benefit from both the cashback and the BT reward credit.

I chose the EE TV package because of the current offer of 2 pounds per month for the first 6 months. However, I have a few concerns.

Will I be able to cancel the EE TV package before the price increases to the standard rate after the 6-month period? I don’t have a TV licence or watch live TV, so I’d be happy just using Netflix and NOW instead. I’m mainly worried about being charged an early termination fee if I cancel the TV package before the 24-month contract ends.

Also, I’d like to understand how cancelling the TV package might affect my TopCashback. If I cancel during the cooling-off period, would that invalidate or disconnect my cashback claim? Would it be better to cancel everything and reapply through TopCashback without the TV package, or can I safely cancel just the TV add-on while keeping the broadband and cashback intact?

Ideally, I’d like to keep the TV package for the 6-month offer period, but I’m concerned about potential exit fees afterward. If anyone could advise on the best option and give an idea of possible termination charges after 6 months, I’d really appreciate it.

Thanks in advance for your help!

is the tv contract not for 24 months and you get the first 6 months at £2 and then you pay a higher cost for remaining 18 months which would suggest that terminating after 6 months will incur penalty charges

Sadly no

Once your 14 day cooling off period ends your stuck with it for two years with all the early termination fees that come with it.

If you don't watch live tv then getting EETV is madness

There's probably more content on your smart tv then on a EE box ( no disney or Sky uhd with EETV)

Currently now are offering sky entertainment for £2.99

A much better alternative for you
