error code 553

error code 553 keeps appearing preventing outgoing emails for no apparent reason- I see this is a common problem. How can I resolve please as its infuriating.

Welcome and thanks for your post!

I am sorry that you're seeing error code 553 when trying to send emails. Are you connecting via VPN software when you're trying to send the emails? If so, disconnect the VPN and try again. Post back and let me know please.

hi thanks for the response, yes its a VPN at home; I have 2 separate wi fi systems and this problem occurs on both ( one is BT Wi-Fi and the other EE via 4G)

what can I try next please? Incoming messages are fine, its just when I try to reply my outgoing mail is being blocked...

As @RobbieMac says, don't use the VPN.

I may have mislead you- I don't think we have a VPN, its just normal BT wi fi
