BT (microsoft) ending POP3 - mail on laptop

I have used Thunderbird for my email for many years. I got the messaage about BT only offering webmail, ending POP3. I don't want to keep my emails on the web server, I want to have them on my laptop with all my existing messages in Thunderbird folders. Is there any way of achieving this for my BT accounts?

You can configure Thunderbird as IMAP and that will replicate what is on the server.
