Verification email not being sent/received

Hi - I'm trying to set up email on a new phone (did have an iphone SE now have Samsung A23 5G). I've downloaded the yahoo app but get stuck when I get to the part where I need to verify - no code gets received into my email - which is still working otherwise well on PC.

I've tried using my mobile phone number but it eventually comes to the same problem.

Any suggestions (I have looked in Spam and also searched for yahoo messages...)?

you need to get the BT Mail app not Yahoo. BTYAHOO was terminated many years ago
