E-Mail about security and validating e-mail account

I have received two e-mails about how BT have updated their system for suspicious behavior and saying that if i don't verify my account by clicking on the link to a secure page on their website, my account will be blocked. this sounds like a scam but is it?

I've also received two e-mails saying that the account has been reset and to click on a verify button. They appear to come from two different e-mail addresses and do not have the usual BT header and footer detail.

@JenniC Welcome to the community. Yes, that's a scam. Forward the email to our dedicated mailbox - phishing@bt.com - then delete it.
