&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;REPEATED ERROR MESSAGES saying BT SMTP DETAILS WRONG&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;I have been receiving repeated error messages continuously because of trying setting up to send emails from my gmail.com account through my outlook account.&amp;nbsp; The message says BT SMPT server details error.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;I have used the following details provided on the BT site as the BT- IMAP AND SMTP details web address link&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; - &lt;A href="https://www.bt.com/help/email/manage-email-account/manual-settings/what-are-the-settings-for-outgoing-and-incoming-bt-email-servers" target="_blank" rel="noopener"&gt;https://www.bt.com/help/email/manage-email-account/manual-settings/what-are-the-settings-for-outgoing-and-incoming-bt-email-servers&lt;/A&gt; - under the title:-&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;Setting up email on an email client&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;SMTP settings&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Outgoing Mail Server: mail.btinternet.com&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Port: 465 (this may not be automatically populated on selecting SSL, so you will need to check)&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;SSL Encryption: Enabled (but not STARTTLS)&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Authentication: PLAIN&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Username: your email address including the @btinternet or @btopenworld.com part&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Password: your btinternet or btopenworld password&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;I would be most grateful if you would be able to provide me with any advice how I might be able to rectify this problem&amp;nbsp; as the error message keeps popping continuously which affects receiving and sending messages.&lt;/P&gt;

      <description>&lt;P&gt;First of all, when posting please don't post your email address, this is a public forum viewable worldwide and you will attract more spam than you can deal with. I have asked the mods to edit your post as it is too late for you to do so.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Secondly, what is it you are actually trying to do? Why do you wish to use BT's SMTP servers to send Gmail, just use Gmail servers.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
