Hi @GardenofEngland, welcome to the forum and thanks for your post.
Are you using a VPN? If so disconnect it and try sending the email again.

If you don't use a VPN try disconnecting your BT Hub for 15 mins and reconnecting it. It should result in you getting a different IP address and that may resolve the issue.

Well, problem seems to have fixed itself, logged out for a few hours, connected again and everything ok.

Never happened before, so lets hope it doesn't happen again.
