BT email checkbox

When I delete an email, my checkbox highlights the email below with a black box with a white tick and on a number occasions I have accidentally deleted emails not realising this has happened.

This is a new problem as the emails shown have changed to initials in the checkbox rather than the old empty square which you highlighted to read or delete.

Apologies for my explanation, I am old and not particularly computer literate!!

You can turn off the childish colouring avatars by going into the settings found by clicking on your username at the right hand side then select "Mail" then untick the box "Show avatar in message list" then click save

I know what you mean and it is really irritating You can turn off the automatic ticking of the next email after you delete one under Username (top right)>Settings>Mail>View next mail after delete / move

but I have not found out how to stop the automatic ticking of everything you click on - it's dreadful!

It was so annoying !! at least I have now been able to turn off avatars and back to black squares now.
