@Chuck2808 Hi Charlie, Oh I'm sorry, that won't be possible. There's a three-year window where you can restore a deleted email in MyBT.

That's a shame, particularly if it has just been discarded and is no longer available for use when it would be useful to restore it.

Have you tried recreating a new address with the same prefix?

I have!
System advises the address is not available. It was deleted 6 years ago and other community members have advised deleted addresses can only be restored for up to 3 years after deletion.

The I wonder if a request can be made to have it truly purged to allow recreation?

Otherwise I guess you're stuck with adding a number/full stop/etc. to create a variation. I don't suppose too many are still emailing the old address!

Are you presently a BT Broadband customer and do you have other active email addresses?

If not, since 26th October 2022, BT stopped offering email accounts to "new" BT broadband customers and any existing BT Broadband customer that had not already set up and are using an active BT email address so you may not be able to set up a new email account by adding a number/full stop/etc. to create a variation as suggested.

Yes and Yes.

The system has offered new addresses using other variations of the current email address but I was keen to resurrect the old address - looks like I won't be able to.
