Thanks for the quick reply.

When I look in account settings the only option I found is a check box for "do not save copies of sent items" which was unchecked. I could not find an option to change the location of the saved messages.

I use an Outlook 2019 IMAP account and BT webmail to look at my emails. Outlook stores sent messages in a "sent items" folder and webmail uses "sent". Is there any way I can get messages sent from either location to be stored in the same folder? I don't care which.

In the 'Home' tab, right click on the account name and select IMAP folders.

Select 'all' and click on ' query'.

Select Sent and click on Subscribe, click Apply

I assume you did set the account up as IMAP in Outlook and not POP3

Yes, in account settings, it says "IMAP/SMTP(send from this account by default)" I set it up as IMAP so I could use 2 PCs to hold my emails.

"sent" does not appear in that folder list. Only "Sent Items"

The only place I see a "sent" folder is in BT webmail" and the BT Email app on my android phone

Hmm, are you sure you selected 'all' rather than 'subscribed' before clicking 'query'?

Can you confirm that messages you send in webmail do not appear in Sent Items and the reverse, mails sent in Outlook do not appear in Sent?

Yes, the messages only appear in either sent or sent items, not both. Also I did click on all to get the folder list
