Email account hacked

Hello,

This evening my mothers my mother's account was hacked and the password was changed along with the security answers and backup email addresses.

The account is now sending emails to all her contacts claiming she has an illness and cannot speak on the phone.

How do we regain access to both the BT and email accounts please/

My mother is currently on the phone with them and they are telling they can only help if she upgrades her BT package.

BT have put her on hold but also told her to phone 999 /shrug

Tell them to go forth and multiply and sort the problem!!

@CodedSteve wow, thats unacceptable. Sounds like she's speaking with sales but she should have be put throught to the broadband faults team who can help with email issues.

I'll send you a private message so you can contact us with your mums details and we'll be happy to pass on feedback and help with the issue.
