With the new email software, I have problems with moving emails to sub sub folders. Using the 'Move to' option I can move an email to the first sub folder and the following list of sub folders are displayed but if I move the cursor into that list of next sub folders the system reverts back to the initial list of folders.

Hi, my husband is having the same issue. So I just checked the various browsers.

He normally uses Firefox, the folder sub system does not work on there.

Tried AVG browser and it doesn’t work on there either.

Tried Edge and yes it works

The problem is the in Firefox and AVG the sub folders open to the right and do not stay open to be able to move the email.

in Edge the sub folders open to the left and they do stay open to be able to move the emails.

it is most frustrating, tried to open a dialogue with BT last night but they are just sending it up the line, with no promise of a resolution.

I have just tried it on Firefox Version 122.0, Chrome Version 121.06.6167.86 and on Opera Version 106.0.4998.52 and the move feature works on all of them the way it should.

I do not have the AVG browser and have no intention of downloading it.

What device are you using and what operating system.

Hi

Ok have tried AVG again and that is fine, edge is also ok.

Firefox, we are using version 122.0 (64 bit) and it is useless on that, so don’t understand why yours is working

I have the same problem. I'm using W11 and Chrome (latest version). When I try to move an email to a sub-folder the list of sub-folders disappears before I can move the email to it. If I persevere it works after about 4/5 attempts. Clearly some sort of race condition.

Its a nightmare - the other thing you need to watch out for is that once you have moved or deleted an email the system automatically highlights the email next email down, so if you don't notice and highlight another email to move or delete it, the system automatically deletes or moves the one it has highlighted - Before I realised this was happening I kept losing emails and then accusing people of not replying saying I hadn't received emails when they had sent them. The system is far from user friendly on a PC - mostly I end up resorting to dealing with emails through my iphone or ipad.

To stop the next email being selected when moving or deleting an email go to the settings found by clicking on your user name at the top right then go to “Mail” in the left hand column. Then in the General Settings untick the box “View next mail after delete/move”. Then click “Save”.

I normally just drag the email to the folder listed on the side but did try move to and yes the sub-folders disappear.

I then tried using the down triangle at the top of the opened email and it worked that way.
